Summit Physical Therapy History

Summit Physical Therapy was founded in 2008.  Its two founding members began providing house call services to the surrounding community with an effort to provide quality one-on-one services.  The idea was originated to improve patient results by improving compliance by offering a unique set of services in a convenient environment at home, work or school.  This “old school” approach caught on rather quickly and Summit began to grow its team.

Summit now provides house call and home health services to many of the community assisted living facilities.  The quality of the services and the results did not go un-noticed and Summit subsequently has been given the opportunity to open two outpatient facilities to better assist the independent and assisted living communities.

Summit Physical Therapy partnered with the SportsBarn to establish an evidenced based orthopedic clinic in August of 2011.   Our methodologies are based on preventative, researched biased medicine, bio-mechanical analysis and progression back to life, vocation and/or sport.  Beginning with a small physical therapy department and one orthopedic, sports physical therapist focused on meeting the needs of the athletic population, it began to expand.  In August 2011, Summit expanded into the SportsBarn North on Hamill Road, and 2 Sportsmetrics staff members were added to the team.  Summit is striving to become known as the facility committed to meeting the unique and specific needs of patients and athletes.

Summit’s and The SportsBarn’s team can provide all the resources needed to advance every phase of the development.

Today, Summit Physical Therapy and the SportsBarn offer a full range of services that include Sports Physical Therapy, Sports Performance Training and Massage Therapy.  Our staff has enjoyed the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and has had the privilege to treat many club level, middle school, high school and college level athletes.
